Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen was in high spirits after Galatasaray’s emphatic 4-1 victory over Sivasspor on Saturday, playfully admitting he feared teammate Lucas Torreira might be gunning for his position.
Osimhen, who joined the Turkish giants as a marquee signing, bagged a brace in the dominant home win, while Torreira surprisingly got on the scoresheet early with a rare goal of his own.
Both players struck within the opening 15 minutes, setting the tone for a one-sided contest.
Baris Alper Yilmaz added a third before Osimhen completed his brace to give Galatasaray a commanding 4-0 lead at halftime. Sivasspor pulled one back late, but it was little more than a consolation.
After the match, Galatasaray’s official X (formerly Twitter) account stirred fan excitement by posting: “All I see is two top-level scorers,” in reference to Osimhen and Torreira.
In a humorous response, Osimhen quipped, “Really scared LUCA will take my position,” poking fun at Torreira’s unexpected goal-scoring cameo.
The exchange has since gone viral among fans, showcasing the team’s strong chemistry and Osimhen’s charismatic presence both on and off the pitch.
