‘We need to continue’ – Rasheedat Ajibade demands more in Praia despite 5-0 win

Atletico de Madrid midfielder, Rasheedat Ajibafe has demanded more from her teammates despite their 5-0 win against Cape Verde in the first leg of their 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Abuja on Thursday.
A first-half brace from Uchenna Kanu, and second half double from substitute Esther Okoronkwo plus Gift Monday strike ensured the depleted nine-time African earn a healthy first leg win over the West African counterparts.
Both teams will once again clash in the second leg in Praia, capital of Cape Verde on Tuesday, 5th December.
However, the margin of victory virtually guaranteed the Super Falcons a spot in the WAFCON, which will take place in Morocco in the summer of next year and acting captain, Rasheedat Ajibade insists her side could still do better.
“It’s not the best game, we will be better,” the Atletico Madrid forward told media.
“We set a standard for ourselves (at the Women’s World Cup), and we need to continue with that standard.”
