Niger Tornadoes’ coach, Mohammed Magin, has hailed his side’s 2-1 victory over Remo Stars as the perfect response to their previous defeat in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Ikon Allah Boys triumphed on Sunday, with two first-half goals from Godstime and Papa Daniel securing the win, despite a late goal from Michael Ibe for Remo Stars.
The result was a crucial bounce-back after their heavy midweek loss to Bayelsa United.
Magin praised his players for their resilience against a “most organized” Remo Stars, acknowledging the tough challenge posed by their opponents.
“Remo Stars really showed they are a top side. I think they are the most organised team we have played so far this season, highly experienced, compared to our young team,” he said.
Reflecting on the loss to Bayelsa United, Magin emphasized the importance of a strong response.
“After the defeat to Bayelsa United in midweek, all we needed to do was put our heads together and fight to make sure we get the three points. We needed that response, and that’s exactly what happened.”
Looking ahead, Niger Tornadoes will face Abia Warriors in Umuahia next weekend, where Magin will be hoping his team can continue building on their positive momentum.
