Nigeria international Roosa Ariyo was on target for KuPS as they played out a 2-2 draw with Honka in a Finnish Kansallinen Liiga women’s topflight encounter Sunday.

Ariyo, who once played for Nigeria, opened the scoring for the visitors in the 22nd minute from Paulinha’s assist at the Tapiolan Urheilupuisto, Espoo.

The lead lasted for 14 minutes before Neela Antikainen set up Ilona Walta for the equalizer.

Selja Leiwo restored KuPS’ lead in the 39th minute ahead of the halftime break.

With the travelers on the verge of an away win, Milla Punsar scored a late goal in the 88th minute to ensure that both sides shared the spoils.

Ariyo saw 70 minutes of action and was replaced by Gentjana Rochi as she has scored two goals in four league games for KuPS this season.

The draw meant that KuPS occupied the second position with 31 points after 15 games, 12 points behind HJK.

They will face Ilves in their next league game on August 17, 2024.
