Nigerian forward Rasheedat Ajibade played a pivotal role in Atletico Madrid’s commanding 4-0 victory against Madrid CFF at the Estadio Centro Deportivo Wanda Alcala de Henares on Friday. Her contributions were instrumental, as she was involved in three of the four goals scored by the Rojiblancos.

Ajibade set the tone early in the match, delivering a cross in the 21st minute that was mishandled by goalkeeper Paolo Ulloa, resulting in an own goal. She then extended Atletico’s lead in the 51st minute, expertly muscling past a defender to find the net.

In the closing moments of the game, Ajibade’s influence was again felt when she assisted Emily Assis, whose touch in the 91st minute made it 3-0. The scoring was capped off in the 94th minute with a well-placed shot from Synne Sofie Kinden Jensen, sealing the match at 4-0.

This impressive performance brings Ajibade’s tally to three goals and two assists in just three league appearances this season, further solidifying her status as a key player for the team. She played the full match, showcasing her stamina and skill.

With this victory, Atletico Madrid sits at the top of the league table with 12 points, having played one game more than rivals Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, both of whom have nine points.

The Rojiblancos will look to maintain their winning momentum in their upcoming league clash against Athletic Bilbao on October 5.
