NPFL: Sunshine Stars win six-goal thriller against Kwara United

Sunshine Stars defeated Kwara United 4-2 in Saturday’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter.

A hat trick from Ahmadu Liman secured victory for the Akure Arsenals.

He broke the deadlock in the 11th minute before Issa Gata equalized in the 22nd minute.

Five minutes later, Wasiu Alalade gave the Ilorin-based visitors the lead for the first time in the match.

10 minutes later, an own goal from Olaniyi Saheed equalized for the Akure-based side.

Liman’s second goal of the game put Sunshine 3-2 up in the additional minutes of the first half.

Two minutes into the second half, he completed his hat trick with his side’s fourth.

With the win, Sunshine Stars moved to the 16th position with 31 points, while Kwara United occupied the 11th place with 36 points.

There are six more games in the league on Sunday and three to conclude Matchday 27 on Monday.
