Victor Osimhen optimistic about Galatasaray’s title race despite Kasimpasa draw

By Monsurah Olatunji

Victor Osimhen has remained optimistic about Galatasaray’s chances of winning the Turkish Super Lig this season, despite their 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa on Sunday.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, has been a standout performer for the Turkish giants, contributing his pace, physicality, and clinical finishing to the team’s attack.

The Super Eagles striker scored a brace in the match, taking his tally to 22 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions.

While Galatasaray still sits at the top of the league with 65 points, just four points ahead of second-placed Fenerbahce, Osimhen expressed confidence that his team could regain their winning form and push for the title.

Speaking after the match, Osimhen expressed disappointment but praised his teammates for their hard work and effort.

“I would say disappointment,” Osimhen said, as quoted by The Nations.

“That’s the best way to put it. We fought against an effective opponent. I’m proud of my teammates for their efforts. Football is like that sometimes.

“This is a really tough league. You have to fight well from the first minute to the last minute. You can be punished very quickly.”

Despite the result, Osimhen is determined to continue the title chase.

“We continue in the championship race. We have all the quality needed to win,” he said.

“We will go into every match to get three points and we are the biggest candidate for the championship.”

The 25-year-old forward also expressed his deep affection for the team and his desire to support his teammates.

“I love this team very much. I love my teammates very much, too. I want to do everything for success. I want to support them,” he continued.

“I think my friends have the same mentality, it doesn’t matter if they are in the first 11 or on the bench, everyone needs to fight together.”
