Fulham pulled off a sensational 3-2 victory over Premier League leaders Liverpool at Craven Cottage on April 6, 2025, with a standout performance from Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi.

The result sent shockwaves through the league, as the Cottagers delivered a thrilling comeback to secure all three points and bolster their European aspirations.

Liverpool initially took control of the match in the 14th minute when Alexis Mac Allister found the back of the net with a stunning strike.

However, Fulham quickly responded with Ryan Sessegnon’s equalizer in the 23rd minute, a delightful volley that brought the hosts level. Iwobi then gave Fulham the lead in the 32nd minute, finishing off a well-crafted team move to make it 2-1.

Before the break, Rodrigo Muniz added a third for Fulham in the 37th minute, putting them in a commanding 3-1 position going into halftime.

Liverpool didn’t give up, and they came out fighting in the second half. Luis Diaz pulled one back for the visitors in the 72nd minute, narrowing the score to 3-2.

Despite a strong push from the Reds, Fulham’s defense stood tall, keeping Liverpool at bay and holding on for a crucial win.

The victory marked Fulham’s first home win against Liverpool since December 2011, and it was a major boost to their hopes of securing a spot in European competition next season.

For Liverpool, the defeat was a rare blow, and they will look to regroup ahead of their next match against West Ham United on Sunday.
