The board of Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL has invited Media Director of Lobi Stars, Emmanuel Ujah over his allegations of match fixing against his players.
Ujah accused players of Lobi Stars of betting on league games including their own club. The Pride of Makurdi have been having a tumultuous season with unimpressive performances that placed them last on the log.
A panel has been set up for Wednesday, April 9, 2025, for Ujah to provide further clarification on the claims he made in writing and in an audio recording.
The summon letter which was signed by the NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi reads: “We have taken note of certain issues which border on alleged match-fixing and players betting in relation to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matches and fixtures.
“The said report appears to contravene the League’s Code of Conduct for Officials by casting aspersions on the integrity of the NPFL and the League’s governance structure.
“These actions are considered detrimental to the reputation of the NPFL and its stakeholders.
