Efala, Boboye clinch NPFL monthly award

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Jean Efala, Akwa United’s captain, and Kennedy Boboye have won Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) awards.

They are Player and Manager of the Month for March.

Efala, a goalkeeper, achieved four clean sheets in five games. This strong showing secured him the player award.

He outperformed Uche Sebastian plus others to win. Other contenders included Liman Ahmadu, Joseph Atule, Sunday Megwo and Samson Olasupo.

Coach Boboye led Akwa United well in March. They secured four wins and one draw in five matches.

Boboye won the manager’s award after a good run. He edged out Finidi George, Ladan Bosso, and Mangut Mbwas.

This is Akwa United’s first award this season. The League Bloggers Award sponsors it. The award recognises NPFL excellence.
