Wolverhampton Wanderers’ all-time record goalscorer, Steve Bull, has thrown his support behind Tolu Arokodare, backing the Nigerian striker to thrive in the Premier League following his deadline-day arrival at Molineux.
Arokodare, 24, joined Wolves after a prolific campaign with KRC Genk, where he finished as the Belgian Pro League’s Golden Boot winner, netting 21 league goals and 23 in all competitions last season.
His move marks a fresh chapter in his career, and he has already pledged to repay the club’s faith in him. For Bull, who scored over 300 goals during his iconic Wolves career, the signing represents the right step at a crucial time.
“We have also signed some competition up front in Tolu Arokodare, who will put Larsen under some pressure,” Bull noted in his column for the Express & Star.
“I’ve watched some clips of him and he’s a raw centre forward, which I like! He will put his body on the line to score a goal. Having competition is always important and that feels like a good signing to me.”
With Wolves struggling for consistency in front of goal this season, Arokodare’s arrival is seen as a timely boost to their attacking options.
The former Genk star is expected to join up with his new teammates after the international break, as he is currently on duty with Nigeria’s Super Eagles, who continue their push for qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
