Nigerian striker Otto John joins Libya’s Swehly Club

Nigerian forward Otto John has finalized his transfer to Libyan Premier League side Swehly Club, arriving in Misrata to complete the formalities of the deal.

Renowned as one of Africa’s most dependable goal scorers, John brings a wealth of experience from his successful spells across Europe, including stints in Albania, Kosovo, and Azerbaijan.

Starting his professional journey in Europe as a teenager, John made a significant impact at Skënderbeu Korçë in Albania, contributing to the club’s domestic triumphs.

He later starred in Kosovo’s top flight with KF Trepça’89, where he won the Kosovo Superliga Golden Boot in the 2016/2017 season, netting an impressive 26 goals.

His career path then took him to Azerbaijan’s Neftçi Baku, where he continued to showcase his clinical finishing and goal-scoring consistency.

Swehly Club will be relying on John’s sharp instincts and extensive international experience to bolster their attack as they aim to challenge for top honours in the Libyan league this season.
