Femi Azeez named in PFA Championship Team of the Year after Millwall campaign

Femi Azeez has been recognised for his influential 2025/26 season with Millwall after being selected for the Professional Footballers’ Association Championship Team of the Year.

The 24-year-old winger was rewarded after producing 11 goals and eight assists in 37 league appearances for the Lions. His performances made him a central figure in Millwall’s challenge for promotion to the Premier League.

Millwall’s campaign ultimately ended in the Championship play-off semi-finals, where Alex Neil’s side were beaten by Hull City. Despite missing out on promotion, Azeez’s individual contribution was recognised by his fellow professionals through his inclusion in the PFA’s divisional team of the season.

Azeez was not the only Millwall player to receive the honour. His team-mate Tristan Crama was also selected for the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

The former Reading forward’s form at club level was followed by a significant moment on the international stage. He made his debut for Nigeria in May and marked the occasion with two goals against Jamaica.

That performance against the Reggae Boyz provided a memorable start to his international career and added to a season in which Azeez established himself as one of Millwall’s leading attacking players.

The award follows a campaign in which Azeez featured 37 times in the league, scoring 11 goals and creating eight more for his team-mates. Those figures formed the basis of his selection and helped make him one of the most prominent members of Alex Neil’s squad during Millwall’s push for the Premier League.

He will now look to build on both his club form and his memorable first appearance for Nigeria after a season that brought individual recognition despite Millwall’s failure to complete their promotion campaign.
