Joy Omewa continued her fine form in English football, scoring her third goal of the season to help Nottingham Forest Women secure a 2-1 victory over Durham Women FC at City Ground.
The 23-year-old striker, who joined Forest from Fortuna Hjørring in January, opened the scoring early with a composed finish inside the box, setting the tone for the hosts.
Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah later doubled Forest’s advantage before Durham pulled one back, but Omewa’s early strike proved decisive in the tightly contested encounter.
The goal marked her third of the 2025–26 FA Women’s Championship season and her second in consecutive home games, having also found the net in the win over Ipswich Town Women the previous weekend.
Before her move to England, Omewa enjoyed a prolific spell in Denmark, scoring 52 goals in 85 league appearances for Fortuna Hjørring and earning the Kvindeligaen Player of the Season award.
Her seamless adaptation to English football—highlighted by her physicality, intelligent movement, and clinical finishing—has quickly made her one of the standout forwards in the division, as Nottingham Forest continue their push up the table.
