Victor Nzubechi Romanus: Nigerian midfielder leaves Norrkoping to become free agent

Nigerian midfielder Victor Nzubechi Romanus has left Swedish side Norrkoping and is now a free agent after his move was finalised on 16 July 2026. The 20-year-old, who operates in central midfield, departs the Superettan club following a short spell in Sweden.
Romanus joined Norrkoping earlier in the 2025-26 campaign after arriving from Czech club Ceske Budejovice B on a free transfer in March 2026. His switch to Sweden marked his first move into senior European league football, with Norrkoping competing in the Superettan.
Before heading to central Europe, Romanus had been on the books of Nigerian side Abia U20, making the step from youth football in his home country to the Czech Republic in September 2025. That transfer laid the groundwork for his subsequent move to Scandinavia less than a year later.
Born on 19 June 2006, Romanus is eligible for Nigeria and is listed primarily as a midfield player. His departure from Norrkoping means he is now unattached and available to join a new club ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The move brings to an end Romanus’s stint with Norrkoping, with the Nigerian now officially registered without a club.
