Hansi Flick urges Barcelona to stay focused before Real Madrid Clasico

Hansi Flick has called on Barcelona to remain fully focused just minutes before their La Liga Clasico against Real Madrid at Camp Nou, while describing Lamine Yamal’s form this season as “wonderful”.
Speaking to DAZN before kick-off, Flick acknowledged the quality of Barcelona’s opponents but insisted his own side had the ability to compete.
“Real Madrid are a great team, but we also have significant quality,” said the Barcelona manager. “I want to see the team focused.”
Flick believes his players are well prepared for the demands of the fixture, having faced Real Madrid several times since he took charge two years ago.
“I think the players know very well how to manage the match, especially a Clasico,” he said. “We have played many similar matches against Real Madrid over the past two years since I arrived, so the players have enough experience and know what to expect.”
The German said the scale of interest in the game should not distract Barcelona from their responsibilities on the pitch.
“I am calm, and it is great to see everyone following this match, but we have to concentrate on what we need to do on the field,” Flick added.
He also praised Yamal’s contribution during the campaign, highlighting the teenager’s approach in training as well as his performances in matches.
“Lamine Yamal is having a wonderful season,” said Flick. “He shows his commitment and mentality in every training session, and it is amazing to watch him. I hope he always continues playing at this level.”
Flick was also asked about the absence of Thibaut Courtois, whom he described as one of the world’s best goalkeepers.
“We know that he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and he proves that in every match,” Flick said. “But we also have injured players, and that is something we have to deal with.”
