Victor Osimhen dedicates Galatasaray derby win to Okan Buruk

Victor Osimhen dedicated Galatasaray’s 2-1 victory over Fenerbahce to head coach Okan Buruk after scoring both goals in Monday’s Intercontinental Derby at RAMS Park.
The Nigeria international was the decisive player in the contest, with his brace securing an important win for the Yellow and Reds against their biggest rivals.
The result extended Osimhen’s excellent recent run, with the striker now having scored three goals in his past two appearances for the Turkish champions.
Osimhen said the victories over Fenerbahce and Lille had been intended as birthday presents for Buruk, who recently turned 53.
“We love our coach Okan Buruk very much. Beyond being our technical director, we love him like a father,” Osimhen was quoted as saying by Sporx.
“He’s a very good person, both on and off the field. We wanted to gift him victories against both Lille and Fenerbahce, and we succeeded.
“We are the biggest in Turkey, one of the biggest in the world. And we’re showing that.”
Osimhen’s goals gave Galatasaray local bragging rights in one of Turkish football’s most significant rivalries and provided Buruk with another reason to celebrate.
The victory also strengthened Galatasaray’s statement in domestic football, with Osimhen continuing to play a central role in the club’s strong form.
