Chelsea extend Nigeria-eligible striker Chizaram Ezenwata’s contract to 2029

Chelsea have agreed a new contract with Nigeria-eligible striker Chizaram Ezenwata, keeping the 18-year-old at Stamford Bridge until June 2029.
The forward earned the extension after an impressive 2025/26 season with Chelsea’s Under-18 side, where he emerged as one of the team’s most promising attacking players.
Ezenwata scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 21 appearances for the youth team, contributing to 22 goals during the campaign.
His performances have enhanced his prospects of progressing through Chelsea’s academy as he continues to develop his game.
The new agreement marks an important stage in Ezenwata’s career as he aims to build on his progress and eventually challenge for a place in Chelsea’s senior team.
Ezenwata’s eligibility to represent Nigeria also makes his development at the Premier League club a potential boost to the country’s future attacking options.
