NPFL MD4 Wrap: Enyimba add to Kwara’s woes, Insurance end Remo Stars run

Kwara United’s winless run in the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) continues after a 3-0 loss to Enyimba in match day four encounter at Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
Chukwuemeka Obioma put up a man-of-the-match performance with two goals in either half to lift the People’s Elephants to a 3-0 win.
Ademola Adebambo converted the two-time African Champions’ second goal in the 68th minute.
The result means Kwara United is yet to record any victory after the first four games of the season. The Aba-based side, therefore, returned to winning ways after the last 2-1 defeat to Plateau United.
Kumaga Suur like Obioma also scored two goals to help Lobi Stars to a 3-0 win against Bayelsa United.
He scored his brace in the 67th and 78th minute respectively before Umar Abba made it 3-0 in the 84th minute.
The victory was Lobi’s third successive one after match day one defeat to holders, Rivers United.
In Uyo, James Ajako’s 79th-minute strike was enough to hand Akwa United a 1-0 triumph over Plateau United.
At Pantami Stadium, ten men Gombe United forced Nasarawa United to a 1-1 draw.
Chinedu Ohanachom opened the scoring for the visitors in the 20th minute but the host, Gombe United were reduced to ten players after a red card was issued to Sani Suleiman in the 81st minute.
Gombe United earned a hard-fought draw as Yusuf Taiye’s penalty in the additional minutes of the second half evened the scoreline.
Shooting Stars in Ibadan finally picked its first win of the campaign as Tiza Iorwuese’s 78th-minute goal was enough to give Oluyole Warriors victory.
After three straight draws with Doma United, Rivers United, and Enugu Rangers, Sunshine Stars finally earned its first win of the season.
The Akure-based side edged Abia Warriors 1-0 with Samson Olasupo’s solitary strike.
Elsswhere, Niger Tornadoes and Enugu Rangers settled for a goalless draw likewise the clash between Wikki Tourists and Doma United.
