Emmanuel Iyoha: Free Agent Germany-Nigeria Winger Linked with 1.FC Magdeburg Move

Emmanuel Iyoha, the Germany-Nigeria right winger currently without a club after leaving Fortuna Dusseldorf, is being linked with a move to 1.FC Magdeburg in the 2. Bundesliga. The 28-year-old, who is comfortable on both feet and stands at 1.93m, is understood to be on Magdeburg’s shortlist as they look to add experience and depth in wide attacking areas.

Iyoha became a free agent on 1 July 2026 following the end of his long association with Dusseldorf, increasing the appeal of a potential deal for Magdeburg, who would not have to pay a transfer fee. Born in Dusseldorf and developed through the city’s youth ranks after an early spell at Bayer Leverkusen’s academy, Iyoha progressed from Dusseldorf’s U17 and U19 sides into the senior set-up. He went on to build a substantial body of work in the 2. Bundesliga, recording 203 appearances with 20 goals and 15 assists, underlining his familiarity with the division Magdeburg compete in.
