Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs demands Napoli respect for Victor Osimhen

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has made it known that the Nigerian government and Embassy shall continue to monitor the treatments of her sportsmen and women world over.
Turggar, through his media aide to the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs on Friday morning reacted to the controversial viral mockery video by Napoli’s official TikTok aimed at Victor Osimhen.
The 24-year-old missed a penalty in Napoli’s goalless draw against Bologna in Serie A on Sunday and was dragged online by his club.
According to the minister, said the matter falls under the 4Ds Strategy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alkasim Abdulkadir, also known as the Tinubu doctrine, it mainstreams Democracy, Development, Diaspora, and Demography as part of its outward-looking objectives.
The Diaspora component considers the life and dignity of every Nigerian in the Diaspora sacrosanct and deserving of respect and dignity per the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
“When we go about our duties, we should always remember Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights,” the statement read.
“They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
“Napoli did not act in the spirit of brotherhood by the mocking of her star player Victor Osimhen who was instrumental to the team winning the Serie A Championship last season.”
