Nigeria midfielder, Christy Ucheibe was honoured by SL Benfica after playing her 100th game for the Portuguese club in a 5-0 victory over Maritimo on Sunday.

A hat trick from Kika Nazareth coupled with goals from Marta Cintra and Sousa Alves sealed a 5-0 win.

In February 2020, Ucheibe joined SL Benfica on a three-and-a-half-year deal and will continue her career at Benfica after signing a new contract until 2026.

The 22-year-old, who came on as a second half substitute, took to her X account (Twitter) to celebrate the honour.

“+3 Points with 100 for the badge and to many more SL Benfica,” she posted.

With Benfica, she won three league titles at the end of the 2019/2020, 2020/2021, and 2022/2023 seasons.

Ucheibe was selected for the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

At the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in France, she played three matches from the start.

On 16 June 2023, she was included in the 23-player Nigerian squad for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and played all four games for the Super Falcons as the team reached the Round of 16.
