Afcon 2023: Stanley Nwabali craves South Africa as Nigeria semi-final opponent

Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has chosen South Africa as preferred opponents in the semifinal of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles defeated Angola by a lone goal in the quarterfinal clash on Friday thanks to Ademola Lookman’s first half goal.
Jose Peseiro’s men will awaits the winner between the Bafana Bafana and Blue Sharks of Cape Verde who are facing each other later on Saturday.
Nwabali who plies his trade in South Africa with Chippa United said he would like to face South Africa to assess how good the Super Eagles’ defense will cope against them.
“Both Cape Verde and South Africa are good teams, but I want to play against South Africa,” Nwabali told reporters.
“I really wish to see how my defence will fare against them. Yes, most of their players know me, and I also know them.”
Nwabali has conceded once in five outings at the AFCON 2023 finals.
