Algeria W U17 0-0 Nigeria W U17: Flamingos seal 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup berth

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team has qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

The Flamingos played out a 0-0 draw with Algeria in the return leg of the Third Round clash in Bilda on Friday.

They had won the first leg 4-0 in Ikenne last week ahead of this clash.

Despite the goalless scoreline, the match was anything but a nail-biter.

Playing in front of their home fans at the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida, Algeria were unable to penetrate the solid Nigerian defense.

The Flamingoes showed their defensive prowess, stifling the Algerian attack and maintaining their lead on aggregate.

The Head Coach of the team, Bankole Olowookere, led them to the last two FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cups in India and Costa Rica, respectively.

The team won a bronze medal in 2022 and reached the quarter-final two years later.
