Ayyoub Bouaddi has medical at Manchester City ahead of proposed Lille move
Ayyoub Bouaddi is undergoing a medical at Manchester City as he moves closer to completing a transfer from Lille during the current summer transfer window.
The Morocco midfielder’s medical was reported by journalist Abdellah Boulma, who wrote on X: “Ayyoub Bouaddi is currently undergoing his medical at Manchester City.”
The examination represents a significant step towards the formal completion of the deal, although the transfer has not yet been officially announced by either club.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had reported on Sunday that Bouaddi was set to leave Lille for Manchester City. Romano said an agreement had been reached between the two clubs over a deal worth up to 100m euros, including add-ons.
“An agreement has been reached between the two clubs over a deal that will reach a value of 100m euros including add-ons,” Romano wrote on X.
He also said Manchester City had received permission from Lille to complete the signing of the Morocco international.
“Manchester City have received the green light from Lille to complete the signing of the Moroccan star,” Romano added.
Bouaddi had already agreed personal terms with Manchester City in July last year, according to Romano, and is now moving towards joining the club’s project.
The midfielder’s medical in Manchester comes after those negotiations and the agreement between the clubs, leaving the completion of the transfer dependent on the final formalities. The proposed fee, including potential additional payments, could rise to 100m euros.
Bouaddi’s move would see him leave Lille for Manchester City after the two clubs reached an agreement and the French side authorised the Premier League club to proceed with the signing.
The latest reports therefore indicate that the transfer is at an advanced stage, with the medical assessment under way and the player’s personal terms already settled. However, the deal remains subject to its official completion.
The developments were first made public through posts on X by Boulma and Romano. Boulma reported the medical, while Romano provided details of the agreement, the potential value of the move and the permission granted by Lille.
Bouaddi is now described as being on his way to join Manchester City’s project, following the agreement reached over his contract last July. The current summer window is expected to bring the process to its conclusion, with the medical representing the latest stage before the transfer can be formally confirmed.
