Biffo praises NPFL officiating after Ikorodu City defeat Kwara United

Nigeria U-20 assistant coach Abdullahi Biffo has praised the standard of officiating in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after watching Ikorodu City beat Kwara United 2-0.

Biffo was in the stands at Mobolaji Johnson Arena for the Matchday 8 fixture and said the performance of the match officials reflected the progress being made in the domestic league.

He also commended both teams, while urging league organisers to maintain their efforts to improve the NPFL and continue rebuilding other important areas of Nigerian football.

“It is a gradual process of improvement in the league, and we are getting there slowly with time,” Biffo said.

The former coach also highlighted the potential among the players involved, saying the match had shown encouraging signs for the future.

“For the teams in today’s match, I saw quality players on both sides, upcoming stars, and eagerness in some of the players, which I believe with a little time they will begin to make waves if they continue to build on themselves and remain focused,” he added.

Biffo said the contest had been closely fought, with Ikorodu City ultimately gaining the advantage through the difference in goals.

“It was a difficult match for both sides, only that Ikorodu City had the edge over Kwara United with the goal margin to complement their efforts,” he concluded.
