Brazil face Nigeria’s Flamingos in 2026 U-17 Women’s World Cup semi-final

Brazil defender Andreyna says her team will need to produce a disciplined and mistake-free performance to beat Nigeria’s Flamingos and reach the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The sides meet on Wednesday night at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, Pitch 3, in Rabat, with a place in the tournament final at stake.
Brazil are pursuing a first title in the competition’s history under coach Rilany Silva, but must overcome an ambitious Nigeria side before they can achieve that goal.
Andreyna, who plays at centre-back, expects the semi-final to be decided by which team handles the occasion best and carries out its plan more effectively.
“I expect a very tough match,” she told FIFA.
“Not just because it’s against Nigeria, but because it’s a World Cup semi-final. The team that makes the fewest mistakes and executes their game plan the best will win this one.”
Brazil have remained unbeaten in Morocco and showed resilience in victories against China PR and Poland. Andreyna believes that run has been built on the squad’s ability to respond collectively to difficult moments.
“I believe our success so far stems from our collective effort – especially our mental strength, which has grown throughout the tournament,” she said.
“Day in and day out, we’ve shown a drive to overcome every challenge that comes our way.”
The semi-final represents a significant test for Rilany Silva’s team, with Nigeria also aiming to secure a place in the final. Brazil’s progress so far has left them one match away from a chance to claim their first FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup title, but Andreyna is aware that their unbeaten record will count for little unless they reproduce their best form against the Flamingos.
Her warning reflects the narrow margins expected in a World Cup semi-final, where concentration and execution could determine which team advances to the final.
