U-17 WWC: Brazil players Falmingos should watch out for in semi final match

Nigeria’s Flamingos face a difficult test against Brazil in the semi-finals of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, with the South Americans boasting several attacking players who have made significant contributions to their campaign.

Brazil have demonstrated their attacking quality throughout the tournament, and the Flamingos will need to pay particular attention to five players who have stood out with their goals and assists.

Here are five Brazil players Nigeria must watch out for:

1. Helena Viera – Midfielder (4 goals, 2 assists)

Helena Viera has been one of Brazil’s standout performers, recording four goals and two assists in the competition. She scored twice against China and added one goal each against Norway and Canada, making her a major threat from midfield.

2. Greise Kelly – Forward (3 goals, 5 assists)

Greise Kelly has been instrumental in Brazil’s attacking play, contributing three goals and five assists. She registered two goals and three assists against Canada, scored once and provided an assist against Poland, and added another assist against China.

Her ability to both score and create chances makes her one of the players Nigeria must closely monitor.

3. Nicolly – Forward (2 goals)

Nicolly has found the net twice at the tournament, scoring against Canada and Ghana. Her attacking contributions could pose a challenge for the Flamingos’ defence.

4. Pepe – Midfielder (2 goals)

Pepe has also made her mark with two goals, scoring once against Canada and once against Poland. Her presence in midfield adds another attacking dimension to Brazil’s game.

5. Marcela Bontorim – Forward (2 goals)

Marcela Bontorim completes the list after scoring twice in the tournament. She found the net against Canada and Poland, underlining her ability to contribute in important attacking moments.

With Brazil possessing several players capable of scoring and creating opportunities, Nigeria will need to remain organised defensively and limit their opponents’ attacking influence if they are to secure a place in the final.
