Paris Saint-Germain stay perfect as Manchester United complete dramatic comeback

Paris Saint-Germain maintained their 100% record in the UEFA Champions League with a record-breaking 6-0 win at Villarreal, while Manchester United produced a remarkable late turnaround against Roma on a night of 26 goals across nine Matchday 4 fixtures.
Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain effectively settled their match in Spain during a devastating opening 17 minutes. Joao Neves, Desire Doue, Senny Mayulu and Fabian Ruiz all found the net before the quarter-hour mark had passed.
Ruiz scored again after half-time and teenager David Boly completed the rout on his Champions League debut. PSG remain the only side with a perfect record and sit at the top of the league-phase standings on maximum points.
Manchester United’s result was more difficult to secure. Roma took a 2-0 lead inside 18 minutes, with Matias Soule opening the scoring before Donyell Malen converted a penalty.
Bruno Fernandes reduced the deficit with a retaken spot-kick shortly before the hour. Bryan Mbeumo then hit both posts before Matheus Cunha struck twice in the space of three late minutes to seal a 3-2 victory at Old Trafford.
The win ended Manchester United’s nine-match winless run and relieved pressure on the home side. Cameroon international Mbeumo started and came close to scoring, while fellow African Amad Diallo also featured. Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba played before leaving the match early with an injury.
Barcelona recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at Camp Nou. Lamine Yamal gave the hosts an early lead and Raphinha added two goals after the interval. It was Villa’s first defeat in the Champions League this season.
Bayern Munich also strengthened their position in the upper half of the table with a controlled 2-0 win away to Atletico Madrid. Teenager Lennart Karl and Konrad Laimer scored in the second half, while Harry Kane was unable to add to his goal tally. Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman was part of the Atletico squad.
Victor Osimhen played the full match for Galatasaray as they defeated Stuttgart 2-0 in Istanbul. The Nigerian forward had several attempts and posed a persistent threat, but both goals came from Russian midfielder Aleksei Batrakov during the opening 15 minutes.
Galatasaray’s victory ended their long wait for a home win against German opposition and improved their prospects of progressing to the knockout stages.
Inter Milan beat Feyenoord 3-0, while Sporting Lisbon secured a 1-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk through Issa Doumbia. LASK defeated Slovan Bratislava 4-0, with Nigerian forward Moses Usor involved for the Austrian side.
The remaining fixture in Norway saw Bodø/Glimt and Lille draw 0-0. Alongside the headline results, African players featured prominently, with Osimhen, Mbeumo, Lookman and Usor all contributing to an eventful evening in Europe’s leading club competition.
