Chidozie Awaziem scores first career brace in Konyaspor win

Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem scored twice as Konyaspor defeated Genclerbirligi 2-0 in the Turkish Super Lig.

Awaziem found the net in both halves to secure all three points for the home side, who also kept a clean sheet. The double was the first brace of his career and capped an impressive display at both ends of the pitch.

The Nigeria international said the result was built on a collective effort from Konyaspor’s players, while also acknowledging the support he received from his team-mates.

“First of all, I congratulate my team for their performance. Everyone gave their all to win the three points. I am very happy with the performance of my teammates,” Awaziem told Pusulahaber.

“Everyone gave their all. I scored two goals, but I scored those two goals thanks to my teammates. I am also proud of my own performance.”

The two goals take Awaziem’s total to two in seven Super Lig appearances for Konyaspor this season.
