Emmanuel Garuba: Nigerian striker joins FK Khujand on loan from FK FAP Priboj

Nigerian centre-forward Emmanuel Garuba has joined Tajikistan top-flight side FK Khujand on loan from Serbian club FK FAP Priboj.

Garuba, 20, has moved to the Vysshaya Liga outfit on a temporary deal confirmed on 24 July 2026. The striker is under contract with Khujand until 31 December 2026, after which he is scheduled to return to FK FAP Priboj at the end of the loan.

Born in Ijebu Ode on 11 April 2006, Garuba operates through the middle of the attack and links up with Khujand after a season in Serbian senior football. He stepped up to FK FAP Priboj’s first team in July 2025, having previously featured for the club’s youth side.

Before moving to Serbia, Garuba came through at Nigerian club Ladegbuwa, earning a switch to FAP’s under-19 set-up in October 2024 on a free transfer. His rapid progression from youth football to a first-team environment in Europe has now been followed by a move into a different league and country in Central Asia.

The Nigerian forward’s loan to FK Khujand offers him the opportunity to test himself in the Tajikistan Vysshaya Liga while FK FAP Priboj retain his registration beyond the end of 2026.
