Enrique Riquelme to watch Real Madrid’s Clasico at Barcelona

Former Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme will attend the Clasico against Barcelona at Spotify Camp Nou with friends, supporting the Spanish giants from the stands while president Florentino Perez is absent from the presidential box.
Riquelme received 35% of the vote in Real Madrid’s election last June and has regularly attended the club’s away matches in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid will be represented in the presidential box by vice-president Eduardo Fernandez de Blas and Jose Martinez “Pirri”, the former player who has been the club’s honorary president since 2023.
Perez’s decision not to attend the game continues his stance from last season, when he also stayed away from Barcelona’s presidential box.
That absence followed Real Madrid’s decision to cut ties with Barcelona after the Catalan club withdrew from the European Super League project.
Riquelme previously watched the Madrid derby between Atletico de Madrid and Real Madrid from a VIP box at the Metropolitano. According to Mundo Deportivo, that appearance was not well received by Perez.
