Enyimba’s Wonah William blames missed chances for Warri Wolves stalemate

Enyimba forward Wonah William says his side’s inability to convert their chances cost them victory in Sunday’s goalless draw with Warri Wolves at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
The People’s Elephant dominated much of the match but were held to a 0-0 draw by the Seasiders, extending a difficult start to the Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The nine-time NPFL champions have now won only two of their opening nine matches, with Sunday’s result leaving them frustrated after failing to find a breakthrough on home soil.
William acknowledged that Enyimba produced a good overall performance but said their lack of composure in front of goal proved decisive.
“We played very well, but we failed to convert our chances in the game,” William said in a post-match interview.
The forward believes the team must use the training ground to correct those shortcomings before their next fixture.
“It’s quite unfortunate, but I believe we will work on it ahead of our next game,” he added.
Enyimba’s next challenge will come away from home against Nasarawa United in Lafia, and William is confident the squad can respond with a positive result.
“We will shift our focus to our next match against Nasarawa United, and I believe we can get a positive result there,” he said.
