Folashade Ijamilusi opens goal account for Laioning with stunner against Beijing Jingtan

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria forward Folashade Ijamilusi struck her first goal for Laioning Baye FC in the China Taiping China Association Women’s Cup Qualifying third group match, assisting her team to a 2-0 victory over Beijing Jingtan.

The goal was her first since joining the Chinese side from Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership champions, Edo Queens two weeks ago.

Ijamilusi caught the eyes of suitors last season after finishing top of the NWFL Premiership goal scorer chart with eight goals.

The feat sealed a move to Edo Queens where she won the 2024 West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League in Cote D’Ivoire.

She was also a member of the Edo Queen’s side that finished fourth at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco.

With the national team, Ijamilusi represented Nigeria at the U-20 level.

Last year, she played two games against Algeria in friendly games finding the back of the net for the Super Falcons.

With a good start and intended form for her new team, another national team call-up can be in the cooler for the former FC Robo Queens player.
