Folashade Olukoya Queens celebrate three-trophy year at MFM service

The Folashade Olukoya Queens celebrated a landmark year after lifting three major basketball trophies at the MFM 70 Days Thanksgiving Service.
The team gave thanks for what it described as God’s faithfulness and for the victories achieved during the year, marking another important stage in its development.
The Queens’ success reflects years of commitment, discipline and dedication to women’s basketball. Their latest honours are the:
– Dr & Dr (Mrs) D. K. Olukoya Women Basketball Championship
– Louis Edem Championship
– Zenith League
The Zenith League triumph is particularly notable because it is the team’s second victory in the competition within four years.
The three titles represent a significant achievement for the Folashade Olukoya Queens and underline the progress they have made through sustained participation in competitive women’s basketball.
The team’s story began in 2018, when its leader was challenged by the Mother in the Lord, Dr Folashade Olukoya, to pursue something different.
That challenge provided the starting point for a project that has grown steadily over the years. Since its establishment, the team has strengthened its presence in the sport through competitive performances and trophy-winning campaigns.
Although the Queens have continued to develop on the court, the team regards faith as a central part of its journey. Its participation in the MFM 70 Days Thanksgiving Service was intended to recognise God as the source of its victories and to express gratitude for the progress made since 2018.
For the team, the celebrations are about more than its sporting record. The Queens view their achievements as an opportunity to acknowledge Jesus Christ for His faithfulness, strength and guidance.
The thanksgiving service also reflected the importance the team places on faith, perseverance and unity as it continues to pursue its ambitions in basketball.
Winning three major trophies in one year has given the Folashade Olukoya Queens further cause to celebrate their development and approach future competitions with renewed confidence.
What began with a challenge in 2018 has become a story of growth, achievement and thanksgiving. As the team reflects on its latest successes, it remains grateful for the opportunity to compete, win and inspire through women’s basketball.
For the Folashade Olukoya Queens, the trophies provide reason for celebration, but the ultimate glory belongs to Jesus Christ.
