Victor Osimhen has promised to find the back of the net for Galatasaray in their upcoming Istanbul Derby against Fenerbahçe at Rams Park Stadium on Monday.

The Super Eagles striker, who scored in Thursday night’s 2-2 draw against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League, was unable to help his side progress due to a three-goal deficit from the first leg.

Despite Galatasaray’s elimination at the hands of the Dutch side, Osimhen’s performance continues to make him a key figure for the Turkish giants.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, has been in sensational form this season, recording 25 goals and assists in just 25 appearances. With 14 goals to his name, he currently sits in third place on the Super Lig’s top scorer chart.

Ahead of the derby, Osimhen was clear about his intentions.

“We are not afraid of Fenerbahçe. We are ready for them; Fenerbahçe is a good team as well. It will be a normal match,” Osimhen said, as quoted by BSN. “I will score goals against Fenerbahçe and help bring my team closer to the championship.”

In contrast, Fenerbahçe has reportedly promised their players a hefty bonus of five million euros if they win the derby, adding extra motivation for the Canaries.

The rivalry between the two Istanbul giants has been intense, with Galatasaray winning five of the last 10 encounters, including one by default. Fenerbahçe has claimed three victories, while two matches ended in a draw.

With both teams vying for the Super Lig title, the derby is expected to be a fierce contest, and Osimhen’s goal-scoring threat could prove decisive in securing Galatasaray’s victory.
