Kelechi Iheanacho scores twice as Bursaspor win to extend record Turkish run

Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice and set up the other goal as Bursaspor beat their opponents 3-0, extending the Nigeria striker’s scoring sequence to 10 consecutive league matches.

Sports247 reports that Iheanacho was involved in every goal in another decisive performance for the Turkish club. His latest display took his total during the run to 14 goals and three assists.

The 10-match scoring streak has reportedly set a new record in Turkish football, although the achievement still requires official confirmation. Iheanacho’s latest brace was also his latest contribution to a run that has established him as one of the league’s most productive attacking players.

The former Super Eagles forward combined finishing with creativity to ensure Bursaspor scored three times through his direct involvement. While his first two contributions came in front of goal, the assist underlined his ability to provide chances for teammates as well as convert them himself.

His numbers across the sequence amount to 17 direct goal contributions in 10 matches, an average of 1.7 per game. That consistency has become a defining feature of his current spell in Turkey, with Iheanacho scoring in each of his past 10 league appearances.

The achievement is particularly notable because maintaining a scoring run over such a period places sustained demands on any forward. Iheanacho’s ability to continue producing goals and assists has made him central to Bursaspor’s attacking efforts.

His club form is also significant for Nigeria’s Super Eagles. The experienced striker’s regular goalscoring strengthens his case as an attacking option for the national team, while his performances indicate a player currently operating with confidence, composure and renewed determination.

That momentum could be important as Nigeria prepare for future international assignments. Iheanacho will now look to carry his form into Bursaspor’s upcoming fixtures, although opposing teams are likely to focus on limiting his influence.

For the moment, his record-breaking sequence if officially confirmed stands at 10 successive scoring appearances, 14 goals and three assists. His latest two-goal performance suggests the run remains a significant source of attacking momentum for both Iheanacho and Bursaspor.
