Al-Wehda forward, Odion Ighalo has publicly cautioned fans following their negative reactions to the news of Victor Osimhen’s failed transfer to Chelsea.

The reigning African Player of the Year was instrumental in leading Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years and awarded the top scorer award.

He has since been the subject of transfer interest and has faced challenges in finding a top European club willing to meet his hefty release clause which is believed to be between €120 million and €130 million.

A deadline-day move to Chelsea seemed nearly complete as the Blues are reportedly keen on securing Osimhen’s services on a loan deal, coupled with a reduced wage package.

However, his representatives could not agree on terms with the club regarding his wage demands.

Osimhen’s failed move to Chelsea has since sparked significant reactions, particularly from Nigerian fans on social media and former Super Eagles striker, Ighalo has publicly responded to critics.

“No human being is perfect and we have all made mistakes in life but seeing comments about this young man from his own country people makes me sad,” he posted on his social media platforms.

“Without even knowing what happened, I spoke to him and I can feel the pain in his voice the way he’s been treated.

“This young man play with his heart and pains for his country hmm it’s well, he will be back stronger. we learn everyday in life… happy new month to y’all.”
