‘It’s hard’ – Jose Mourinho responds to Victor Osimhen-Didier Drogba comparison

Former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has expressed his opinion concerning the comparison, involving Victor Osimhen, Romelu Lukaku, and Didier Drogba.
Considered the “Special One” for his achievements and records, Mourinho has managed two players out of the trio.
When at Chelsea, Drogba was one of the soldiers the manager recruited to help win the club’s first league title in 50 years and repeated the success the following season, before re-enacting it ten years later.
The Ivorian featured 186 times for Mourinho’s Blues over two spells, scoring 73 goals and providing 38 assists en route to three Premier League titles and the now AS Roma manager also had the privilege to coach a young Lukaku at Chelsea before reuniting in Rome this season for the Gillarossi.
Despite never coaching Osimhen, Mourinho has managed to be on the opposite end, facing the Napoli striker on several occasions and could tell one or two things about the Nigerian goal poacher.
The 24-year-old bagged 26 goals last season to help Napoli win its first Scudetto title in 33 years becoming the first African to be named best striker in the league’s 125-year history.
Not only has the Super Eagles star been compared to Didier Drogba on many occasions, but has revealed that the former Blues is his role model as Mourinho believes the two players should not be compared to the African legend.
“They are two very strong attackers who are different from each other. One lowers himself more and creates an understanding with his teammates,” Mourinho said per Wayne Girard.
“The other is more direct and gives more depth. They are two very good players and Serie A must be happy to have them both. They could play in other leagues. They are two top players, there is no story.
“Drogba was different from them! It’s hard to compare, I’ve never liked doing these things.
“Osimhen is the best African player and Drogba was. Lukaku has African parents but he is European and does not fall into that classification. We are talking about top players.”
