Manchester United sign England youth midfielder David Eze from Manchester City

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of 16-year-old English-Nigerian midfielder David Eze from Premier League rivals Manchester City.

Eze has joined United’s academy after leaving City, where he had progressed through the club’s youth system.

The move had been signalled by the English Football Association, which named Manchester United as Eze’s club in a recent announcement about England’s youth teams.

The central midfielder has represented England at youth level and is considered a promising talent within the country’s development system.

Eze is understood to have signed a scholarship agreement with Manchester United. The deal means he will be eligible to sign his first professional contract with the club in March 2027, when he turns 17.

His arrival at Old Trafford marks the latest stage in his development as he continues to progress through English youth football.
