Michael Olise ‘tells France team-mates he wants Real Madrid move’ as Bayern stand firm

French forward Michael Olise has informed his international team-mates that he wants to leave Bayern Munich for Real Madrid after the World Cup, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.

The 24-year-old, who only joined Bayern last summer, is said to have made clear during the tournament that he believes the time has come to take the next step in his career – and that his preferred destination is the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid are aware of the player’s wishes and are preparing to explore a deal once the World Cup concludes, the report adds, although Bayern’s hierarchy insist they have no intention of selling.

Real hierarchy alerted but wary of difficult deal

L’Equipe reports that senior figures at Real Madrid have already been informed of Olise’s desire to move and are expected to begin sounding out a transfer once international duties end.

However, club officials in Madrid are said to recognise how complicated any agreement would be, given Olise’s long-term contract and Bayern’s firm public stance.

Olise is under contract with the German champions until the summer of 2029, giving Bayern a strong negotiating position and reducing the likelihood of a cut‐price exit.

The story was considered significant enough for L’Equipe to devote its Friday front page to the situation, underlining the growing intrigue around the Frenchman’s future.

Bayern president: ‘We don’t want to sell him’

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has already issued a blunt warning to Real Madrid over any potential bid for Olise.

“يمكن لفلورنتينو بيريز ان يوفر على نفسه تقديم عرض لضم اوليسي، فنحن لا نريد بيعه,”
he said, making clear that Bayern have no plans to cash in on the forward.

L’Equipe also reports that defender Dayot Upamecano, Olise’s club and international team-mate, has tried to persuade him to stay in Munich and continue his development in the Bundesliga.

Despite those efforts, Olise is understood to feel that a move to La Liga and to Real Madrid in particular represents the natural progression for a player tipped to become one of Europe’s leading attacking talents.

Perez €150m ‘galactico’ hint reignites speculation

Olise’s name has been circulating around Real Madrid for months, after club president Florentino Perez referenced a possible €150m move for a “global star” during the last presidential election campaign.

At the time, speculation quickly mounted that the Frenchman might be the unnamed target, forcing Perez to clarify that Olise was not the player he had in mind.

Nonetheless, L’Equipe’s latest report has revived talk in Spain that the Bayern forward could yet become the next major ‘galactico’ signing if the two clubs can find common ground.

Possible knock-on for Bellingham or Vinicius

Any successful pursuit of Olise could trigger significant changes within Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, the French daily suggests.

L’Equipe claims that the arrival of the winger might necessitate the departure of at least one established star to make both financial and tactical room for him.

The newspaper points to Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior as two high-profile names whose futures could come under scrutiny.

Bellingham’s relationship with fellow France star Kylian Mbappe is described as currently strained, while Vinicius has yet to sit down with Real Madrid to negotiate a contract extension, fuelling speculation about his long‐term position at the club.

There is no indication yet that Real are actively looking to offload either player, but L’Equipe maintains that their situations would be closely examined were a serious bid for Olise to materialise.

Long contract, growing ambition

For now, Bayern maintain control of the situation thanks to Olise’s contract running until 2029 and their public refusal to sell.

But L’Equipe’s reporting that the forward has openly told France colleagues of his wish to join Real Madrid suggests the transfer saga is unlikely to disappear soon – especially if he excels on the World Cup stage and further strengthens his case for a blockbuster move to Spain.
