Mohamed Salah arrives in Trabzon ahead of proposed Trabzonspor move

Mohamed Salah has arrived in the Turkish city of Trabzon as he prepares to complete the formalities of a proposed move to Trabzonspor.

The Egypt international’s arrival comes after the club announced that it had opened negotiations with the player. Salah is expected to complete the process before contracts are signed and the transfer is officially confirmed.

Several Turkish reports claim the 33-year-old will agree a two-year contract with Trabzonspor on a free transfer. Salah is leaving Liverpool without a fee after his departure from the English club, where he had been widely known as the “Egyptian King”.

The player’s presence in Trabzon marks the latest stage of discussions between the forward and the Turkish club. However, the deal has not yet been formally announced as completed, with the signing of the relevant contracts and the club’s final confirmation still to come.

Following Salah’s arrival, Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan spoke to Turkish broadcaster A Spor about the negotiations that preceded the agreement with the Egyptian forward.

Dogan used the interview to explain how the talks developed before the two sides reached their current position. His comments came as anticipation grew around the proposed transfer and the possibility of Salah beginning a new chapter in Turkey after leaving Liverpool.

Trabzonspor’s announcement that negotiations had begun was followed by Salah travelling to the city on Wednesday. His arrival now allows the club and the player to move towards the final administrative steps required before the transfer can be completed.

The proposed agreement would see Salah join Trabzonspor as a free agent, with Turkish reports pointing to a two-year deal. Until the paperwork is signed and the club makes its final statement, the move remains subject to completion.

The transfer would also represent a significant moment for Trabzonspor, given Salah’s profile and his previous association with Liverpool. The club’s president has now addressed the discussions publicly, although the final details of the agreement are still to be confirmed by Trabzonspor.

Salah’s next step is therefore expected to be the completion of the formal procedures ahead of the contract signing. Once that process is finished, Trabzonspor will be able to announce the deal officially.

Tickets for Trabzonspor’s league matches are also available for purchase through the club’s ticket arrangements.
