Newbridge Town sign Irish-Nigerian winger Isaiah Phillips on free transfer
Irish-Nigerian winger Isaiah Phillips has joined Newbridge Town from Johnstown FC on a free transfer, giving the National League club a new option on the left side of attack.
Phillips, 22, is a left winger whose preferred foot is his right. The Navan-born player made the move to Newbridge Town on 25 August 2026 after only a short spell with Johnstown FC.
He joined Johnstown from Glenville on 14 July 2026, also on a free transfer. His switch to Newbridge Town therefore represents his second club move of the 2026-27 season.
Phillips began that campaign with Johnstown before moving on to Newbridge, following a series of free transfers during his senior career. He joined Glenville from DUFC in September 2025, having previously left Ballymun United for DUFC in January of the same year.
Before that, Phillips spent time with Ballymun United after joining from Kentstown Rovers in August 2024. His early senior career also included spells with Home Farm and OMP United, while he had periods without a club between moves in 2023 and 2024.
The forward was born in Navan, County Meath, and is listed with both Irish and Nigerian nationality. His arrival adds a player capable of operating from the left wing to Newbridge Town’s squad as the club competes in the National League.
Phillips’ previous club, Johnstown FC, is recorded without a league designation in the transfer details, while Newbridge Town’s move places the winger in the National League. No contract length has been disclosed for his time with the new club.
The completed transfer continues Phillips’ movement through Irish football, with Newbridge Town becoming his latest destination after spells at Johnstown FC, Glenville, DUFC, Ballymun United, Kentstown Rovers, Home Farm and OMP United.
Phillips completed his free transfer from Johnstown FC to Newbridge Town on 25 August 2026.
