Nigeria quintet clinch Tanzania Super Cup title with Yanga Princess

Five Nigerian players emerged champions of the Tanzania Women’s Super Cup.
Nigeria Stars Uzoamaka Igwee, Rita Akarekor, Rebecca Omowunmi Ajimuda, Toluwalashe Adesholaa and Angela Michael won the Tanzania Samia Women’s Super Cup.
Their team, Yanga Princess beat JKT Queens 3-0 to win the trophy last weekend.
Goals from Aregash Kalsa and Jeanine Mukandayisenga’s brace sealed victory for the Princess.
Igwe won the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership title with Bayelsa Queens as well as West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League.
She was part of the Prosperity Girls that won bronze medal at the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Akerekor player for Nasarawa Amazons before moving abroad while Ajimuda featured for Edo Queens.
Earlier, another Nigerian won the third place match of the Super Cup.
Precious Christopher and Simba Queens pipped Fountain Gate 2-1 to win the bronze medal.
