Rangers legend Kris Boyd has praised Alex Iwobi for his exceptional assist during Fulham’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton at the American Express Stadium on Saturday.
Despite the loss, Iwobi’s performance stood out as the Nigerian midfielder set up the opening goal for Fulham.
In the 35th minute, Iwobi delivered a perfectly placed pass to Jiménez inside the box.
The Portuguese forward controlled the ball with his chest and fired a low left-footed shot, beating Brighton’s goalkeeper to give Fulham the lead.
Boyd, speaking on Sky Sports, was full of praise for both Iwobi’s assist and Jiménez’s clinical finish.
“It’s a top finish. The ball from Iwobi is good, but the finish is better. He chests the ball down before firing a left-footed strike into the back of the net,” Boyd said.
Iwobi’s assist brings his total to four in 33 matches this season, adding to his seven goals.
With eleven goal contributions so far, the Nigerian has remained a key player for Fulham this season, even as the team faces challenges in the Premier League.
