Nigerian Clubs Face August 15 Deadline for CAF Inter-Club Squad Registration

Nigerian clubs participating in the 2026/27 CAF inter-club competitions have been given August 15 as the deadline to submit their squad lists for the first preliminary round.

The deadline applies to all four Nigerian representatives in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup — Rangers International, Rivers United, Shooting Stars and El-Kanemi Warriors.

Rangers International and Rivers United will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League, while Shooting Stars and El-Kanemi Warriors will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The clubs are expected to complete the registration of all eligible players and submit their final squad lists to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) before the deadline.

Failure to meet the August 15 registration deadline could have consequences for the clubs as they prepare for the opening round of Africa’s premier inter-club competitions.
