NPFL: Papa Daniel reveals reasons for joining Niger Tornadoes

Papa Daniel, the latest addition to Niger Tornadoes, has opened up about the motivations behind his move to the Minna-based club.
The experienced midfielder, who transferred from Turkish side Adanaspor, cited his desire for success and the thrill of playing in his home country as key reasons for his decision.
In an interview, Daniel expressed his enthusiasm about returning to Nigeria to play in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), particularly noting the positive changes in the league’s atmosphere.
He mentioned, “It feels good to be back home to play in my own country, especially the NPFL. I’m extremely excited – in fact, I can’t wait.”
Daniel acknowledged that his initial perception of the NPFL was somewhat daunting due to concerns about crowd troubles.
However, he praised the league’s progress, saying, “My initial perception of the league is that the NPFL is scary because of crowd troubles, but gradually the trend is changing.
“The fans are more enlightened now, unlike back in the days. Kudos to the league board for the drastic measures put in place to improve the image of the league.”
The midfielder also shared his positive experience with his new teammates and staff, noting the friendly environment at Niger Tornadoes.
“I’m happy to be here; all the players and coaches are friendly, and that made my settling in quite easy, especially with the help of my roommate, Ahmed Family, who is a nice guy.”
As Niger Tornadoes prepare to host Nasarawa United on Sunday in Minna, Daniel has a message for the fans: “My message to fans is to come out in their large numbers to cheer the team to victory this weekend. We are assuring them of our best at all times; all we need is their full support.”
With his debut already behind him, Daniel is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming match, aiming to make an impact and contribute to the team’s success in the new season.
