NWFL: Chris Danjuma relishes Nasarawa Amazons’ “very sweet win” over Remo Stars

Nasarawa Amazons Technical Adviser, Christopher Danjuma, is a delighted man after his team ended Remo Stars Ladies’ unbeaten run with a narrow 1-0 victory on Wednesday in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL).

The Lafia-based side triumphed over their Ikenne counterparts in a crucial restart fixture of the season, a win that Danjuma described as “very sweet.” He was particularly pleased with how the victory showcased the team’s progress after a challenging first-round performance.

“The victory over Remo Stars Ladies is a very sweet win,” Danjuma said. “We are the ones that stopped their unbeaten run. It shows what I’ve been saying: let’s get our house together in the second round.”

While Danjuma was proud of the result, he acknowledged that there was still work to be done, particularly in terms of improving the team’s conversion rate.

“Our conversion rate is still the problem,” he admitted. “Creating chances is an ability, but now our focus is on converting those chances, which we are working on.”

The victory was particularly significant as Remo Stars are currently the league leaders, and Danjuma noted that the match was a tough one. “It was a tough match because they are league leaders, but somebody has to win,” he added.

With the win, Nasarawa Amazons have shown promising signs of improvement, and Danjuma will be keen to build on this momentum as they continue their push for success in the NWFL.
