NWFL: Former Flamingos media officer named Rivers Angels spokesperson

Former media officer of the Nigeria U-17 women’s national team, Faith Oluchi has been appointed the spokesperson of Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Rivers Angels.

In a letter made available to Nigeriafootball.ng, the appointment of Oluchi was confirmed by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports, Rivers State under Honorable Commissioner Barrister Chris Green.

According to the letter, her appointment as the Jewels of Rivers media officer takes effect from February 1, 2024.

The women’s football enthusiast has years of media experience, covering different international tournaments including the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), and CAF Women’s Champions League amongst others while also keeping an eye on activities in the NWFL Premiership.

She will take over the reins as replacement for erstwhile Rivers Angels spokesperson Jessica Amadi, who has been in charge of the team’s media department for over eight years before stepping aside at the end of 2023 season.

Before the appointment, she served as media officer of the Nigeria U17 women’s national team also knowned as Flamingos, as they excelled at India 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, where the country won a historic bronze.
