Obia Christiana: Nigeria goalkeeper joins Albanian side Apolonia

Obia Chinaza Christiana has joined Albania women’s top division side, KFF Apolonia Women.
The former Edo Queens save hands broke the news on her social media handles on Saturday, November 16th, 2024.
“Thank you, Lord, for this new chapter in my career. To you alone be praise 🙏🙏🙏
FK APOLLONIA ⚪️💚⚪️”, She posted.
The former Osun Babes FC and Edo Queens FC save hands will be hoping to have the best of start with her new team.
Obia also featured for Rivers Angels in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership before her switch.
She was part of the Rivers Angels side at the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2021.
At the national team level, Obia also made the roster for the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup with Nigeria.
The 23-year-old save hand is joining the list of a few Nigerian women’s goalkeepers in Europe, including Paris FC Chiamaka Nnadozie in France and Yewande Balogun the in the Czech Republic.
This season in the Women’s National Championship, Apolonia
currently places fourth on the log out of 10 teams in the Women’s National Championship table.
